Additional Election Information

Where there was no one that filed for the 4-year Mayor position in Oak City Town, the Town will accept parties that are willing to file as write-in candidates. Although parties filed for the two 4-year Council person positions, you may also file as a write-in candidate for these positions.

Remember to qualify for any position you must be a United States citizen at the time of filing, be a registered voter of the municipality, a resident of the municipality or a resident of the recently annexed area for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election. You must not be a convicted felon, unless the right to hold elective office has been restored.

In order to be an official write-in-candidate you must file with the Oak City Town Clerk at my home office located at 270 West 100 North Oak City, Utah 84649 (435-846-2751) by September 8, 2017. If you do not file, you will not be a viable candidate and a vote for any party not registered will not be a viable vote.

If no one files for the Mayor position, this position will be appointed by the Town Council in January for a two year period.
